Cardiff Girl Geek Dinners is part of a community that originated in London and has since evolved to cover the world.
While there are a few regular digital media related events and meet-ups held in Cardiff, there is nothing dedicated to bringing together all the ladies who work in the industry.
Girl Geek Dinners take place around the world and they have been running in Cardiff since 2010.
The idea of Girl Geek Dinners is to create an environment in which we can chat, relax, eat and drink. Our goal is to enable like minded women to connect and share ideas, views and experiences.
Whilst this is not intended to be a "networking" event, you may meet people who can benefit you professionally.
We would love to see anyone who is female and has an interest in digital media, the web and computing, although you don't necessarily have to be technically minded.
Men are welcome to join us, however they must be accompanied by a female in order to attend. The reason for this is to keep a good dynamic, which in our experience is hard to find in this industry.
How To Leverage Your Authentic Personal Brand
Highlights of the evening were the talk by Emma Boulton, meeting lots of fabulous girl geeks and the chocolate brownies!

So the big day had arrived. The first ever CardiffGirlGeek meet up was about to take place. We'd set up the website, sorted the twitter account, sent out the invites, got ourselves a venue and even bought balloons - now we just needed the GirlGeeks!
Our first event will be held on Thursday 4th February 2010 in Terra Nova, Mermaid Quay, Cardiff Bay, 6pm - 8pm.
